Maggotfest 2010

I know that it is a long way down the road, but we are going to have some major change ups in our manning in my department at my command and I need to know what is the time period I should request leave. That is, if there is still a plan on going to Maggotfest.

If so, do we stay at a campsite, hotels or....? Just need to get some things lined up sooner than later to be able to go. Thanks!

It's the first weekend of May. I would suggest getting a hotel around downtown. So you can walk to the bars and stumble back to the hotel.

Do we all head over there as a group? Anyone else planning to go?

Yes and No. Depending on peoples schedule, determines when they leave. Some carpool over.

More than likely Jen and I will be leaving early Fri and coming home on Sun. We may rent a car or ride with some one who wants to leave on the same schedule as us.

Is that what you will be staying in? The hotel that is sponsoring them is all booked up already. I can start looking at hotels in the vicinity of that one or closer to downtown if ya'll want.

were probably going to get a hotel room, Klint may stay in the Winnie though.

I'm planning on going, if Ivy comes we'll be hoteling it but if not probably hit up the cabins at the KOA again. After last years "incident" the trailer is not in the equation anymore.

Incident? I take it that it is something to be told in person and not on here.

The sponsor hotel (Holiday Inn) does not have any rooms available unless they have them blocked off and we have to contact the Maggots to get one.

the KOA really wasnt bad, the cabins are good size and they're cheap. Kind of "rustic", meaning you have to walk to the bathrooms and showers but for the money it worked out, you can fit 3 guys in one cabin for under $60.

I can do cheap and rustic since all we will be doing is playing rugby and other "activities" that surround that lifestyle.
